Volcanoes National Park
Home to roughly one-third of the world's remaining mountain gorillas, Volcanoes is Rwanda's most famous destination. Five volcanoes rise dramatically from the forest, offering trekking, golden monkey encounters, and Dian Fossey's legacy.
Akagera National Park
Rwanda's only savanna park and a Big Five destination. Lions were reintroduced in 2015, rhinos in 2017, joining elephant, buffalo, hippo and over 500 bird species in a stunning lakeland landscape.
Nyungwe Forest National Park
Africa's oldest montane rainforest and a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status. The famous canopy walkway at 70 metres is a highlight, alongside chimp tracking, colobus monkeys and waterfall hikes.
Lake Kivu & Rubavu
One of Africa's Great Rift Valley lakes, stretching 89 km along the DRC border. Rubavu (Gisenyi) offers beautiful beaches, boat cruises, fresh tilapia, and a lively beach-town atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Rwanda.

Nyanza Royal Palace
The reconstructed royal palace of the last Rwandan Mwami (king) and the sacred Inyambo cattle — adorned with beaded horns — still roam the grounds. A deeply atmospheric cultural heritage site.
